This resource will provide you with Fifty Question Cards which include a picture cue, a Yes/ No question, and a space to provide a response.
The Questions prompt students to
· voice their opinion.
· use their prior knowledge and experiences.
· make predictions.
Print out question Cards, glue to white construction paper, cut out, and laminate. Number the backs of the Question Cards in the upper right hand corner to correspond with the numbers on the Data Sheets.
Using Question Cards
Question Cards can be used in a small group setting or when working with a student one-to-one.. Questions can be answered in a variety of ways, dependent upon student’s skill level. For example, responses can be made:
· by pointing to yes or no boxes.
· by circling response with a red dry erase marker.
· by indicating response with a clothespin.
· by providing a verbal response.
As students’ verbal skills develop, encourage them to respond in complete sentences. You can also use the questions as prompts to initiate a discussion.
Using Data Sheets
Data Sheets are provided and can be used monthly to assess students’ progress over time.
