This activity is a great follow-up to the book "One Hundred Hungry Ants" by Elinor Pinczes as an introduction to multiplication and/or arrays. Students can use inch tiles, cubes, or any other manipulative to find all of the different arrays for a given number of "ants." It's easy to differentiate - some students can find arrays for a small number like 6, and others can find all of the arrays possible for a larger number with more factors like 36. This activity is great for independent, partner, or small group exploration and sharing. There are two instruction sheets per page to save paper.
