Nonfiction stories are difficult for students to read and understand. It is also a crucial component on assessments and common core. These fluency reads were created to boost student scores in the nonfiction portion of state assessments. The reads are not just for fluency. After students have read the whole short article, there is a comprehension component included. Students will be required to write complete sentences and base their answers from text evidence.
How to Use:
*These can be given as homework, class work, or small group work. They can be placed at a station for peer work.
*Directions are written step-by-step to allow teachers, parents or students to know what is expected.
