Students will have a discussion in which they play the role of a prominent religious or reform leader from the Antebellum period. They stay in character to ask and answer questions as their selected person might have done. Students will need to research their person and learn as much as possible about that person’s life and thoughts. As part of their research, students will not only need to learn enough to become their person, but also specific questions about topics from that time. Students will also need to do a little research of another person in the class and create question that your characters can discuss.
Students have a blast getting into character and I even offer extra points for coming in costume.
