Are you looking for a way to engage students in a real world activity that will help them dive deep into the issues surrounding bullying and ways to prevent it at your school? This resource is a student-centered activity that turns your students into researchers and teachers. Students will work together with a group of their classmates to research the harmful effects of bullying and ways to stop bullying. The best part of this activity is that students will take a pro-active approach to end bullying on their campus by using their finished products to create an awareness campaign that will educate others about bullying.
Teachers will LOVE that they get to sit back and facilitate while their students do the thinking, creating, and teaching. In addition, everything that you will need to implement this activity has been included along with a variety of options and editable features that allow you to customize information to better fit the needs of your students. Students will LOVE that they are in control of their learning and that they are offered a variety of products that they can create.

• Project Overview:
These handouts include an overall project instruction sheet that contains a brief introduction to the project and the available options. A blank template has also been included so that teachers can customize instructions for students. In addition, there is also a rubric included for teachers to score the projects and a Self and Peer Evaluation handout for students to complete.
• Individual Project Handouts and Materials:
Each project includes a product specific page that includes criteria and a project checklist. In addition to the fully complete product instruction page, there are two other editable resources that allows teachers to customize the instructions and/or checklist to fit the needs of their students. There is also a group brainstorming page with guiding questions, a double-entry journal organizer for student research, and a rough draft page for students to sketch out their ideas before creating their final project.
• There are FIVE project options that your students will be able to select:
Students will be responsible for creating a poster that contains both relevant information and graphics that are directly related to bullying.
☞ Morning Announcements PSA:
Students will be responsible for creating an 30 second-1 minute PSA that can be read during morning annoucements.
☞ Letters to the Editor:
Students will write a Letter to the Editor to educate others on their topic.
Students will be responsible for creating a brochure on paper or the computer that includes relevant information and graphics that are directly related to their topic.
Students are responsible for creating a commercial or trailer that educates their classmates about their topic.
