This is an anticipation guide that accompanies the 45 minute National Geographic video "Light the Ocean" that very clearly teaches your students how the ocean currents influence the distribution of marine life. In Florida, that's one of our standards. The movie is short, at 45 minutes, and will reach your visual learners, and my anticipation guide gives you the teacher a tool to measure student participation and engagement. Students not only create predictions about movie facts, but they also have to make corrections to any incorrect facts. At the end, I provided a 3 question survey for students to rate what they thought of the movie's effectiveness as an educational tool. As a teacher, I've learned to listen to what my students have to say! An answer key is also included, in the same file, on pages 3 and 4.
