This game engages all of the learners as they place their answer cards onto the correct squares before the game begins. They could do this alone, with partners, in small group, etc.
This game reviews the following antonyms:
Up-down, summer-winter, hot-cold, front-back, above-below, over-under, top-bottom, left-right, on-off, young-old, hard-soft, fast-slow, early-late, empty-full, bad-good, wet-dry, sink-float, true-false, before-after, yes-no, same-different, buy-sell, give-take, big-small, east-west, lost-found
1. This game can be played like any bingo game.
2. Play reverse bingo. The students cover all of words on their card with correct antonyms (there will be two antonyms left over for each card). When a antonym is called, students can remove one answer card. A partner, teammate, or the teacher could watch to be sure a correct word is beneath. A bingo is called when a row of cards has been removed.
3. Alternatively, print a set of student answer cards for each child. Each student organizes the answer cards above the board to be ready to cover a word with the correct antonym. As students choose facts to cover, they can be held accountable for their answer choices. When a bingo is called, the child can read back the word and the antonym.
