Antonym, Synonym, and Homophone Search allows students to demonstrate their understanding of antonyms, synonyms, and homophones through identifying examples of each in informational texts such as magazines and newspapers. The students will cut out and glue their examples in the graphic organizer provided!
Because this activity goes beyond simply filling in a worksheet, it is typically more engaging for students. In addition, the students are demonstrating their understanding of these vocabulary terms while being exposed to texts that focus on real-world issues!
This activity is another one my students enjoy! Depending upon your students' needs, it can be done independently, in pairs, or in small groups.
