Need engaging & fun activities to get your students excited about learning antonyms? This game is for you! Zero worksheets and very little prep!
In Antonym Slam, students are put in groups of 3-4 (can be modified for smaller groups too). Each group has a set of 15 antonyms that are cut apart. The teacher will read a direction from the teacher script. Ex: "Slap the antonym for tall." Each group slaps the antonym - short! The first student to slap the correct antonym gets to keep the card. Then you move on to the next direction. The student with the most cards at the end is the winner!
The kids will LOVE this game because they are practicing antonyms WITHOUT having to do a paper/pencil worksheet. I have included two versions of the game, so you can play twice. You can also modify the activity to play with small groups.
