Ants in my Pants is a fun game to use in your literacy centres. The aim of the game is to fill your board (on page 4) with three ants (page 5) which are interspersed within the other cards. Players take turns to pick up a card from the deck and read the word or letter on it. If the player gets an ant card, it goes onto the players game board. Maybe you’d like to get your students to stand up and wiggle around like they have ants in their pants when they get an ant card too – up to you!
There are a few different options for your decks of cards which is what makes the game highly suitable for a range of ages and abilities. Depending on your students’ abilities you may like to use just one set of cards or a selection of a few sets.
