Anyone Can Draw Dragons and Sea Serpents is a drawing unit designed for intermediate and middle/secondary students. Dragons and Sea Serpents are found in the folklore of many cultures, so this unit can be used in social studies and language arts curriculums for various grades. This unit shows students (and teachers!) how to draw dragons and sea serpents. It would complement a unit on mythology, Chinese New Year, or Dungeons and Dragons. For differentiating instruction the unit also offers ideas for embellishments (scales and flames etc.) and two lesson ideas are included. One lesson incorporates creative writing, and the other uses the math concept of pattern. Through the use of colour students are able to create the brightly coloured Chinese dragon, or the more subdued colours of the medieval or gothic dragon.
