Introduce students to the development of Apratheid after South Africa gained independence. In groups of four, students learn about how Apartheid impacted African people's lives (the categories include laws part 1, laws part 2, statistics, and family life). After each student independently reads one document, they share with their group the information. Students then work together to determine what was the biggest challenge the African people were facing. Lesson plan includes role cards (leader, presenter, and recorder), to hand out to students.
