Put your students in charge of the local government facing an apocalypse!

This lesson is designed for a middle or high school level course, essentially any course studying the apocalypse or great world change in modern day society. The lesson is meant to get students creatively thinking about different types of apocalypses that could happen in their town, and devising concrete and official responses, despite a likely lack of understanding of the cause or main solutions to the problem. This was designed and successfully used as an introductory activity to an Apocalypse unit, in an effort to highlight the various types of apocalypses believed to possible, but could be inserted anywhere in a unit for Mythology, English, or Science based classes.

As part of the lesson, students will be working in groups on one of the apocalypses, with the final product for the assignment being a mock press briefing written and delivered by the group to inform classmates and potential residents about the apocalyptic situation.

Also a great team builder!
