This counting activity will be an easy addition to your Math Centers or Morning Tubs. Students can use apple erasers, poms, or any other colored manipulatives to show the correct number of apples.

What's Included:

* 1 large tree (color and black & white)

* 24 apple cards with numbers 0-6 (color and black & white)

To Prep: Print the large tree page and the apple cards. Laminate for durability and cut out. Add apple erasers, poms, or any other manipulatives that are red, yellow, and green.

To Play: Students lay a card on the tree page, then add “apples” to the tree depending on the amount shown on the card.

Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
