K.G.A.3, K.G.B.4, K.G.B.5

Version 1: Students roll a paper die with 2D shapes (triangle, circle, square, rectangle, hexagon, and trapezoid). They identify the shape on top. They find the same shape on the recording sheet and color it.

Version 2: Students roll a paper die with 2D shapes (triangle, circle, square, rectangle, hexagon, and trapezoid). They identify the shape on top. On the recording sheet, they draw that shape inside one of the apples.

Pattern Picking – differentiated patterns.
K.G.A.3, K.G.B.4, K.G.B.5

Version 1: Students use the play dough mats and play dough. Students read the numeral and count how many. On the recording sheet, they students find the matching picture from the mat and fill in the ten frame to show how many.

Version 2: The only difference between version 1 and 2 is the ten frames are already filled to guide students in creating the appropriate number of play dough balls.

Sorting Apples – differentiated sorting cards.
K.MD.B.3

Version 1: Students sort the apple cards by one attribute (color, size, or kind). Then they use the recording sheet to circle which way they sorted and draw one apple from each set in the boxes.

Version 2: Students choose a sorting card and sort the apples by the attribute stated (color, size, or kind). Then they use the recording sheet to circle which way they sorted and draw one apple from each set in the boxes.
