BUILD is a math center management concept. Each letter in the word stands for a type of activity that the students will participate in during math centers. These activities provide a variety of chances to meet the different learning styles of your students. In this resource you will find 2 or more activities for each letter of BUILD. The centers are themed around apples and focus on counting and cardinality for Kindergarten students.
All activities are included in both color and black and white.
What do the letters in BUILD stand for?
B- Buddy Games
Students will be partnered up at the center to play a variety of games.
U- Using Math Tools
Students will use a variety of math manipulatives to complete these activities and games.
I- Independent Reading
Students work at reading stories related to the math topic being practiced or complete their own math books.
L- Learning about Numbers
Students will participate in a variety of activities and games that focus on number sense and/or fast facts etc. This is also a chance to incorporate learning with technology.
D- Daily Practice
Students will review topics they have already learned at this center. Games will focus on reviewing skills that students need more practice with. These activities can be done independently or within an intervention group.
