Here is what is included in this resource!
❤️ Teacher Tips
❤️ Subitizing Apple Seeds-
Subitizing is the ability to recognize a number associated with a small group of objects without counting. This is a huge skill when building number sense. (Numbers 1-12)
❤️ Pumpkin & Apple Venn Diagram-
This is a great way to combine science and writing.
❤️ A Bushel of Probability-
Probability is essential in the elementary classroom. It introduces the concept of randomness to children. In this way, it builds a bridge between mathematics in the classroom and the real world.
❤️ How Many Bites?-
Estimation is such an important mathematical skill. Repeated exposure to estimation activities leads to much stronger number sense.
❤️ Tasty Line Up-
This is a simple alphabetical order activity. It is a great way to introduce the alphabetizing. I have included pieces to make a whole class anchor chart on where alphabetizing happens in the real world.
❤️ I Like Apples-
I Like Apples is a sensory tasting, graphing and writing activity that focuses on the words that describe how apples taste. (Whole group graph and individual graphs are included to help meet individual and class needs.)
❤️ Round & Round-
Children put the stages of the apple life cycle in order and then under each interactive flap they write what is the most important fact about each of the stages of the life cycle. This can be used as an assessment at the end of your unit or a pre-assessment before you begin.
❤️ One Seed at a Time-
This is a great estimation activity because it allows children to adjust their thinking halfway through the estimation. Make sure students glue one seed on the apple before they estimate. This visual allows them to begin to visualize how much space one seed requires.
❤️ Fruit Basket Upset
-Fruit Basket Upset focuses on place value. Directions are provided. This activity is sold separately in my store.
❤️ Apple Schema Chart-
I love schema charts for teaching about prior knowledge and misconceptions.
