These Apple Morning Tubs
are fun and hands-on activities used to learn and review literacy and math concepts. These interactive morning tubs are also an entertaining and engaging way to start the day. This set includes 5 literacy and 5 math morning tubs that are perfect for children around the ages of 4-6.
Literacy Morning Tubs:
ABC Apple Tree:
Children will select an apple alphabet card and identify the lowercase or capital letter. They will then form that letter on the apple tree using play dough.
Apple Bushel CVC Match:
Children will select an apple card and read the CVC word on it. They will then find the bushel with the picture of the word and match the apple and bushel together.
Real & Nonsense Apple Word Sort:
Children will select an apple card and read the word on it. They will then identify the word as real such as “red” or silly like “zog” and place the card on the correct mat.
Apple Bushel Syllable Sort:
Children will select an apple card, identify the picture, and count the number of syllables in the word. They will then place the apple picture card on the correct syllable card (1-4.)

Children will select a picture card and identify the letter and sound that the picture begins with. They will move their game piece on the game board and take turns until they identify all of the beginning sounds.
Math Morning Tubs:
Apple Counting Clip Cards:
Children will select a card and count the number of apples. They will then place a clothes pin on the missing number.
Apple Tree Roll & Cover:
Children will roll a die and count the number of dots. They will then find that number on the apple tree and cover it up using a marker. There are also “Plus 1” and “Minus 1” game boards too.
Apple Subitizing Sort:
Children will select an apple tree mat and identify the number word on it. They will then sort through the leaves and find the number, counting fingers, and ten frame for the number on the apple tree mat.
Adding To 10 Apple Trees:
Children will select an apple tree addition mat and count the number of apples on the tree. They will then use pom poms, two-color counters, mini erasers, or other counting manipulative to add on to 10.
Colored Apple Graph:
Children will roll a die and look at the key to identify the colored apple for that number. They will then graph the data.
