WHY THE 'VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP - APPLE ORCHARD'?
✏ Interactive. This resource includes links to an apple orchard and apple-related videos for students to watch and then use their new 'appley' knowledge to completed various language tasks.
✏ Engaging and Easy. Included are several activities for older and younger students working their speech and language skills. Activities can be printed and completed or done via screen share for teletherapy/distance learning. You can type directly into the PDF to enter in student articulation words too!
✔ Links: All PDF pages are hyperlinked to apple videos, extension articles, and additional youtube videos.
- Suggestions for related books are included and linked to recorded read-a-louds in
case you don't have the book. Also, included are game and craft suggestions.
✔ Scavenger Hunt Page As students watch different videos they can check off items on their 'scavenger hunt list'. This is text-only list. Younger students may need additional support and reminders about what they are looking for.
✔ Language Review Pages: Older students complete the language review pages. There is a page with related articles that students can read to answer a main idea question and create a summary. There are is one, overall language sheet with short activities for:
- Vocabulary: Students are to search and locate by means of books and/or the internet, the meanings of several associated aquarium words.
- Answering HOW and WHY questions
- Using conjunctions
- Inferring and Predicting questions
✔Language Activity Pages: Younger students are to complete the language activity pages. There is a page with related YouTube videos for them to watch and then respond to questions regarding it. There is also an overall activity page, with visual supports, that has short activities for:
- How and Why questions
- Following Directions
✔ARTICULATION - There is an editable articulation page with basic reinforcement activities. Articulation words can be entered right into the PDF! The corresponding reinforcement activity can be completed in person or via screen share.
✔CORE BOARD - Included is a corresponding core and fringe AAC board for this virtual field trip.
