I included a full page version that can be printed or projected onto an interactive whiteboard. On that version, I put the words on the bottom since my kiddos can’t reach the top of our interactive board!
This story has some more difficult words in it, so it will be great for whole group teaching. It also has different punctuation marks to help with book-print awareness. There are three pages with counting and the apples are scattered to help reinforce math standard K.CC.5 (counting up to 10 things in a scattered configuration).
There is a colored and gray scale version of the story to use in guided reading groups and/or to be sent home. The students can color the apples the appropriate color in the grayscale version.
