This is an apple themed speech and language packet, with language activities geared towards early language skills, such as basic WH questions, associations/go togethers, categories, and apple vocabulary. Also included are activities for AAC users to work on core vocabulary words such as "on" "off" "in" "more" "want" "big" and "little."
The following is included:
pp 3-5: Spinner and playdough mats for associations/color categories
pp 6-9: 4 pages (18 pairs) of “go together” cards– play “Memory” with these cards to find pairs of items that go together. I like to use just two rows at a time, and have the top row all apples and the bottom row all baskets, so my younger kiddos understand to pick one from the top row and one from the bottom row.
pp 10-12: Category cards; 2 levels of difficulty included. Instructions included on activity pages
pp13-16: Do-A-Dot pages (alternative: laminate and use with play dough balls as apples
p17: “Balance the Apples” –Use play dough balls as apples and place in circles. Use a spinner or die to determine how many apples to put on during each turn. See who can fill up their page first!
pp18-19: “Spin to Win” pages- 1 page geared towards articulation and one with instructions that can be used with any speech/language target. Use the spinner and add play dough ball apples to the basket.
pp20-24: 9-grid BINGO sheets using apple-themed vocabulary
pp25-31: “Feed the boy/girl apples” tissue box activity (WH questions, AAC, or general reinforcer)- My preschoolers LOVE tissue box activities where they can force feed people or animals (ha ha) so I designed this to be used in a few different ways.
1) Use the apple WH question cards included (12 apple-related what/where questions, and 12 each of general who/what/where question cards)
2) Use the blank page of apples and use for any activity/target.
3) Going along with the second suggestion, the blank apples can be used as an activity with AAC users learning core words such as “in” “out” “want” and “more” – see further information/instructions on activity pages.
pp32-38: Parts of an Apple Interactive Book: Instructions included on assembling pages; designed to be used for apple parts vocabulary, or for AAC users learning core words “on” and "off."
pp39-45: File Folder games; includes colors and size concepts; designed to be used with AAC users learning core vocabulary words “on” “off” “want” “more” “big” and/or “little.” Instruction pages included.
