I put these on the white board as my "Question of the Day" during circle time. We normally do 2 of these a week. Each child has their own name which they place on the white board according to their answer …yes, no, ect (Each name is laminated with a magnate attached.). After everyone has had a chance to answer the question we look at the results. This is a math tool for Pre-K to count and use the terms greater than and less than. It's something simple that they will understand and have fun doing. We count how many names are on each side and then I ask the kids "Which side has more names?" and they will tell me. Then you can say "So this side is greater than that side, another words this side has more names than that side." as you point to the appropriate sides. You can also ask the kids which side has more girls or which side has more boys. For older kids you can have them write the "Question of the Day" down in their journals and answer in complete sentences. There are a lot of different things you can do with the questions and results. The kids love answering my questions and it engages them.
