Students will love this differentiated, apple tree rhyming activity!
An "I Can" direction sheet is included for each set of cards to allow for independent workers.
*Small group Memory-style game* - Students take turns drawing two cards. Say the name of the pictures on the cards. If they rhyme, write the two words on the recording sheet (PROVIDED). If they do not rhyme, turn the cards over. Next player's turn.
*Individual Student Word Work* - Student says the names of the pictures on the card. Student matches the rhyming pictures. Student records the rhyming pairs on the recording sheet (PROVIDED).
Three sets of cards with differentiated levels of support are provided!!! 1) Maximum support - CVC words are written on the card. 2) Medium support - Beginning sound is missing. Word family is written on the card. 3) Minimum support - Only a picture is on the card. Student must write the sounds they hear in the word.
