PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Perfect for fall, Apple Trees and Bees has it all! The focus of this unit is on original informational text for listening or reading, listening and/or reading comprehension, science, language arts, and building basic literacy and language skills. It is designed to simplify students’ understanding of apple trees and how they grow and the importance of bees in the process. It is perfect for springtime when apple trees blossom and ideal for the fall when apples are ripe and ready to pick!

The packet includes twelve original informational text pages. Four student response pages follow eleven of the informational text pages. The focus of the response pages includes 1) the sounds the letters make, 2) writing the letters, 3) identifying beginning sounds in words, 4) tracing, 5) coloring, and 6) some limited word writing.

The twelve informational text pages are accented with colorful clipart and photos to support listening and/or reading comprehension and to enhance learning. The response pages are in black and white to conserve printer costs (with few minor exceptions). The response pages were developed to accommodate differing skill levels among students so that all students can participate in this unit. TIP: Print an extra copy of the twelve informational text pages, laminate, secure with a binder ring, and place in your classroom library for reading access all year long!

This unit is easily used in large and small groups and in 1:1 settings. For small group instruction, only one copy of the informational text pages needs to be printed. (Print and laminate to use year after year). Print as many of the black and white response pages as needed for your classroom use.
