This is a lab designed for pre-K, kindergarten and 1st grade.
Children will observe an apple that has been cut up. They will notice that it will start to turn brown. Pose the question to ask for ideas on what we could put on the apple to help it stay white and fresh longer. They will make predictions and then they will try milk, water, soda and lemon juice.
They will make a plan, watch and record the results before drawing their conclusion.
This was designed after a lab sheet my nephew brought home from his school. I do not know where it originated or who the original author was. I adapted it to use in my class.
