Ring in fall with this apple themed unit! Included in this unit is a reading group project, small moment fall writing, and observations using senses to describe apples. A couple bonus pages include a note home (poem) to tell parents to bring in an apple for making applesauce in the crockpot, and the recipe for how to make crockpot applesauce in your classroom!
****All activities are standards based!***
Reading: Let your students show you how they can ask and answer questions using key details from their text by doing this group project. Students will use familiar classroom read alouds to work as a group and come up with the 5W+H questions for their book and answer them. They will then make their own appletree to display in the classroom and make your very own class apple orchard.
Writing: Students will use their planning page to write about a fall activity that they love to do. They will use the 5 W questions to help plan the details of their story. Also included is a final draft paper with lines on front and back.
Science: Students will do this hands on science activity by using their 5 senses to observe an apple. (note-you will need to bring in apples for this part)
