“Apples, Apples, Apples!” is a fall math mini-unit to learn
about and practice linear measurement, and the measurement of mass or weight. Pages are included for the use of estimation and referents, as well as non-standard or standard units of measurement. There are pages for students to compare their measurements with others, count apple seeds using a place value mat, collect data and graph it. Pages have space to illustrate each of the measurement activities. There is also a self-reflection page at the end.
Wrap up the mini-unit by using the apples to make applesauce or apple crisp (more measurement!). A beginning-middle-end chart is included so that students can recall how to make the apple treat!
