This is a counting book to accompany the reading of "Apples Up on Top" by Dr. Seuss writing as Theo LeSieg. In this activity, add a picture of each student to the page. Then, let students add apples up on top of their head. (I have included apples you may cut out and use, or you may choose to let students use an apple stamp.)
Students practice writing their name, counting with one to one correspondence, and writing numbers.
Students love going to their class library, seeing and reading each other's names, and counting apples. It's wonderful, high interest reading for young students.

Enjoy and have fun teaching!
