Using 4 problems (eight parts in total) that involve solving logarithmic equations in a real world scenario, students will find their answer on the maze sheet and highlight it. The students will be able to self-assess if they came to the right answer because they should be able to find it on the maze sheet. If all the problems are done correctly the highlight answers should create a path from the top to the bottom of the sheet.
I gave my class an entire class period to work in groups and work out the problems. They are motivated by completing the maze. I gave this activity to a group of bright, college prep students and it was a little challenging for them. I would suggest this for an honors precalculus class.
