I didn't have a resource like this when I was teaching appositive phrases . . . so I made one! This lesson uses examples from four different sources (Warriner's; Little, Brown; Writers' Inc; and Sentence Composing for High School). In addition to the definitions, there are 15 example sentences for students to copy or write into their notes, underlining or highlighting the appositive phrases. Answer Key is included in the PPT. Also included is a mini flip book for notetaking (courtesy Danielle Knight).
PPT presentation includes 26 slides.
Notes handout included (4 versions) -- has answers in bold.
I included pictures for nine of the sentences to make them easier for ELL and struggling students. And visual learners! (I think it's important for students to associate their writing lessons with actual writers and their work.)
