Understanding appositive phrases is a way to help students add more detail and variety to their sentences, as well as help students identify context clues when terms within sentences may be unclear.
I created these task cards to help my students better recognize the placement and purpose of appositive phrases, and how they are correctly written with commas.
To use with your students:
•Review/discuss the notes and the varying placement of appositives
•Print the task cards
•Print student answer document
•Let students get to work in small groups, partnerships, independently, or as a class scoot
