Can you combine character ed and math review? Of course! With this activity, teachers will choose a word that describes a student and give the student that specific math page. This is very individualized and makes students feel very special! The math pages spell out the following words: leadership, support, confidence, kindness, curiosity, helpfulness, spunk, creativity, patience, perseverance, honesty, and humor. Pick the word that describes that child to give them a boost of self-esteem while practicing math skills in decimals, fractions, and whole numbers!

Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, π’/π£ + π€/π₯ = (π’π₯ + π£π€)/π£π₯.)
