This super resource is for PYP teachers who are looking for ways to help their students work on transdisciplinary skills (Approaches to Learning)
ATL’s (Skills) are one of the 5 essential elements of the PYP and these printables give you great ways to track the students’ progress with the skills and to set targets.
This download includes:
An uncluttered poster showing all of the ATL’s (skills) within the PYP
2 Student reflection sheets – for students to define each skill to be targeted, record evidence of the skill development and set targets (there is a sheet aimed at 4 – 7 year olds and another sheet aimed at 8 – 12 year olds)
The poster can be enlarged for classroom display and also printed out for inside the student’s workbooks.
In my classroom, I ask the students to paste the poster into their workbooks and use it to track their progress with targeted skills within each unit. Students highlight the skills we are focusing on within a unit and reflect on their progress as they go using the second reflection sheet. Students also record evidence of when they have used particular skills which I find useful for assessment purposes.
I also use this as part of my curriculum overview to help me track the skills I have included when planning each unit. This helps me to see at a glance how balanced the coverage of the ATL’s are within my programme.
Thanks for looking at my product!
