I created this iPad as a way to display our "rules" about handling our iPads. Each app is a different "rule". This is the discussion that I had with my class about each app.
*2Hands: use two hands when moving around the classroom with your iPad.
*SitDown!: if possible, sit down when using your iPad.
*Lock Screen: when I am talking, please lock the screen.
*BGentle: be gentle when touching the screen.
*1App: please only use the one app that I have asked you to use.
*Share: if you are playing a game that requires two players, share the iPad.
*No Water: please keep your water bottles away from your iPad.
*H.Phones: if you are using an app that uses sound, please use your headphones.
*No Food: please don't eat when using your iPad.
*Charge!: when your battery is "in the red", plug it in1
*Number?: make sure you check the number on the iPad to make sure it is yours!
*RUP: (this is something used at my school - it stands for Responsible Use Policy and basically says that students understand that when they are using technology, they must do so responsibly. Students, parents, and teachers sign this agreement). If you don't have this at your school, I highly recommend implementing it at least in your classroom.
*Don'tLose!: keep track of your iPad.
*PutAway: when finished with your iPad, put it away on the shelf.
*Home: when finished with an app, press the home button.
*Sleep: make sure you close the cover to ensure your iPad can get some sleep.
