Treatment for apraxia should involve working on planning, sequencing and coordinating the lips, jaw and tongue during speech production.
Apraxia Cards Level 2 contains CVCV, CVCVC, and CVCVCV, CVCVCVC words as well as a Sequencing Board.
Use these cards to:
-practice words with varying levels of complexity to increase skills
-give as homework to carryover the skills learned
-in various games/activities to generalize use
The Sequencing Boards on the last two pages are a way to expand past just the words and the word cards. Place either 2 or 3 cards on the Sequencing Board and have the student say them in sequence. This is another way to expand their planning, sequencing and coordinating skills. For example, “baby”, “ballet” and “below” can be used.
You may want to begin by duplicating the same card 2 or 3 times and use that same card on the pacing board. Have the student say the same word 2 or 3 times. For example, “below”, “below” and “below” would involve less coordinated movements and may be a good starting points for some individuals.
