The ‘vocabulary’ for treatment of Apraxia does not vary to a large degree -- and will not vary much -- as there are a finite number of possible words with the specific syllable shapes and early consonants that are needed to effectively and systematically teach motor-planning and sequencing of speech so that children can gain functional verbal language.
Boardmaker icons are used for my products because this is the most readily-available library of images to rely upon for ‘apraxia vocabulary’ and is often the “go-to” software of standard icons used within the classrooms of special education teachers and SLPs alike. This builds familiarity for the child, which increases automaticity of speech.
Included in this packet are the following:
180 flashcards in color and also in B&W
Deck cover cards for each Syllable Shape: CVCV, CV1CV2, VC, CV(x30 words), CVC Synthesis: /h, w, p, b, t, d, m, n), C1V1C2V2, Pivot Syllables -dle, -dy, -ny
Handshape Cues descriptions and other helpful hints when working with highly unintelligible children who have difficulty consistently motor-planning and sequencing their consonants and vowels into recognizable words.
This Apraxia Flashcard Set corresponds with ALL of the available (and soon-to-be-released) Apraxia packets available within my TPT store.
Thank you for viewing my products. It is MUCH appreciated, as I am a newbie to TPT, but a 15-year veteran to our field. I have a passion for developing materials for my caseload, and I hope you find them as fun and rewarding to use asI have! ~Meredith
