These materials are designed for use with children who demonstrate significant difficulty with motor planning for sounds and syllables. Included are 48 picture cards for CVCV, 56 pictures for CVC, 48 picture cards for CVCVC, and 3 game boards.
All the targets are words rather than nonsense syllables to facilitate functional carryover.
The phonemes are targeted for imitation based on stimulability. If certain sounds are not stimulable, do not include words that contain a nonstimulable sound..
List 1: CVCV Words (text words use a black font)
List 2: CVC Words (text words use a blue font)
List 3: CVCVC Words (text words use a red font)
Print all student materials on card stock, laminate and cut.
Use the game board of your choice and either the List 1, List 2, or List 3 cards, or a combination depending on the instructional level of the student(s).
Place cards face down in a stack. Students take turns choosing a card and repeating the word the number of times determined by the adult as an instructional target. If the sounds in the words are correctly produced, the student moves a token ahead on the game board to the colored sea character that matches the colored dot on the upper left hand corner of the picture card.
