I've designed the Spanish Apraxia Therapy Workbook for the bilingual SLPs as well as monolingual SLPs. The focus of this product is on the child who is highly unintelligible and is also learning how to read and decode Spanish. The student can be Spanish-dominant or bilingual in both languages.
When kindergarteners learn to read in Spanish, they learn the syllables starting with MA ME MI MO MU, PA PE PI PO PU, etc. The vowels do not change in Spanish so it is easier to decode vowel sounds. This resource takes students through the same order of syllables, but teaches them how to coordinate their muscle movement to say those syllables in isolation, moving to reduplicated CVCV real and nonsense words, then to non-reduplicated CVCV words, and finally on to other syllable shapes including CVC, CVV, and VCV.
Once the student reaches the level of real word stimuli (CVCV words), high-quality pictures are presented. I chose the fantastic Smarty Symbols for this product so that the students would using the best clip art available.
This resource is one of the most useful products you will have in your arsenal for highly unintelligible students who speak Spanish.
