Calendar Math in primary grades is a great way to teach number sense concepts while helping students master days of the week, dates, and basic math skills.
In this packet you get 26 days of calendar math to use in the month of April. Each day contains a different proofreading sentence with common grammatical errors (capitalization, punctuation, spelling, tense, etc.), and focuses on math skills such as extending patterns, 10 more and 10 less, fact families, money, time, even/odd, and place value. Each day of calendar math uses the date as the number of the day to make each day different. This packet contains 13 days of extending patterns and 13 days of 10 more/10 less.
This packet also compliments Math in Focus, or the Singapore math approach, by using number bonds to help with fact families.
I use this with my students each day after morning meeting. They enjoy the challenge, and they have a greater understanding of math concepts by completing the activities each day.
