Happy Spring! Even though we had some flurries here this morning my morning meeting continues to be an integral part of the day. We spend time on ELA and math skills during this time. The children really enjoy the interactive slides. I have some great new spring themes this month.
For April there are 26 slides, which include:

Daily morning meeting-
-April calendar (new)
Weather chart that can be customized for your town. Click on the weather people to link to your local accu- weather forecast
-Weather bar graph to go along with the weather of the day- you can keep track for the month and compare most, least, equal to
-Odd or Even number chart (new background and picture)
-How Many days in April.- ten frame & tally mark chart to practice these very important math skills each day (new raindrop theme)
-Days in school place value chart using one and tens base ten blocks
-Class bank to continue money recognition
Math Review skill slides including:
-Count forward and back skip counting-roll the dice and Count by 2’s, 5’s or 10’s to 100
-More and less- choose a number and fill in the blanks.
-Pick any number and have the students show in hundreds, tens and ones and write a number sentence
-Fact families- write a new family each day and have children write all related number sentences
-Guess my number game (new spring theme)- Secretly choose a number, have the children guess one at a time, after each guess move the pictures
Word work slides-
-Build a word with r controlled- er , ar, or,
-4 new Poems & Songs for the month- Children read the poems each day for the week and then on Friday they get a copy to print out and illustrate in their poetry books.
- Sight word list from the ELA Unit 4 review of “trick words”. Students can read the words daily and/or you can use this to play bingo. Children can write the words in a grid then call 1 child up at a time to highlight a word. Keep playing until someone gets a bingo.(new) You can use the include worksheet or your own.

I keep this program open the entire day. I find that I use different parts at different times in the day including small group time, math and center work.
