Increase your students' understanding of Earth Day, Rainbows, and the Water Cycle with these Close Reading passages of Informational and Literature Paired Texts. The informational texts that are included have Lexile Levels between 540-1070. The literature pieces that are used include the beautiful story of "Miss Rumphius" by Barbara Cooney, (pairs with Earth Day), "The Rain Stomper" by Addie Boswell (pairs with the Water Cycle), and "A Rainbow of My Own" by Don Freeman (pairs with Rainbows).
The literature graphic organizers are included if you choose to purchase the children's picture books for each topic. There are about 50 informational and literature graphic organizers included for each of the 3 topics - there is a lot of variety in the graphic organizers and they are grade level and core standard specific. You can choose which ones you use, depending on what core standards you are focusing on, or focus on all standards throughout the study of each topic.
