April Showers Reinforce sight words, color words, number words, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "April Showers" mini book practices the sight words down, on, the, color words, and number words. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture something that rain could fall on. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. I have also included a number words practice page. Students will trace a number word and draw a matching number of raindrops.

Spring Cleaning Reinforce sight words, beginning, middle, and end, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Spring Cleaning" mini book practices the sight words I, can, help, said, will, the. In response, students will create their own spring cleaning flip book, showing what/where they would clean. How to Dress for the Rain Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, nouns/verbs, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader and corresponding activities! My "How to Dress for the Rain" mini book features the sight words I, will, put, on, my, yellow, time order words, and simple text that shows each step of getting dressed to go out in the rain. In response, students will draw a picture showing what color raincoat they would wear in the rain. They will write or complete a sentence to match the picture. I have included two response sheets. One with a traceable sentence starter and one without. Students will also cut and glue pictures, in order, to retell the story. I have also included a full color story sequence puzzle.

Grow, Tulip, Grow Reinforce sight words, color words, plant vocabulary, non fiction text features, labeling, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Grow, Tulip, Grow" mini book practices the sight words the, little, down, up, in, out, of. In response, students will draw the life cycle of a tulip and label the parts of a tulip. They will also think of what color tulip they would grow. They will draw a picture and write a sentence to match. Springtime Fun Reinforce sight words, nouns, verbs, main idea and details, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Springtime Fun" mini book practices the sight words you, can, jump, little, in, on, a. In response, students will draw details and write verbs to complete a main idea and details "Lift the Flap" graphic organizer. They will also think of another activity they can do in the spring. They will draw a picture and write a sentence to match. For students who need more support, there is an additional response page with a traceable sentence starter. I have also included a full color, springtime nouns and verbs sorting activity. This activity has 10 noun picture cards, 10 verb picture cards, noun header card, and verb header card. Students will take turns choosing a card, identifying the picture, identifying if it is a noun or verb, and placing it under the correct header. Picture and header cards are large enough to fit in a pocket chart.

I Spy Insects Reinforce sight words, color words, questions, telling sentences, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "I Spy Insects" mini book practices the sight words what, can, you, find, in, on, the, by, a, and color words. In response, students will write a question about where they could find an insect, a sentence telling what insect they would find there, and draw a picture to match. For students who need more support, there is an additional response page with a traceable question and sentence starter. I have also included a question/telling sentence pocket chart sorting activity. Students will read questions/telling sentences about insects and sort them according to sentence type. They will reread the questions and match them to the sentence that answers it.
