April Every Day Writing Prompts covers all days in the month of April and focuses on the 4C's encouraging students to be:
USE CRITICAL THINKING
Each Daily Writing Prompt can be used in a 10-30 minute teaching slot or can be stretched to a full hour.
Teacher's resource pages are included along with a dictionary of vocabulary from SAT lists.
Each writing prompt Includes:
Vocabulary Challenge: a set of words that support the writing prompts. The words differ in difficulty, with the most difficult words being selected from SAT vocabulary lists.
To assure our students are prepared for the future it is never to early to start with SAT vocabulary prep. The earlier and more familiar students are with advanced vocabulary the more likely they are to use it. The SAT words may become a normal part of their diction thereby increasing communication skills and challenging students to continue to expand their language base.
The Research section is meant to strengthen communication of each individual student. The research section acts as a collaboration between school and home. By providing regular “short” assignments that involve family, we are strengthening the collaboration between teacher and guardians while working on the student learning more outside of the classroom.
They can be used as conversation starters and students can write anywhere from a few sentences to a paragraph depending on grade level requirements and teacher decisions.
