Want to sneak a cumulative review in, but have a little April Fool's fun in the process?
This "quiz" is just the trick!
Twelve problems in this review quiz address the following (very worthwhile) concepts:
*Order of Operations
*Evaluating Variable Expressions
*Properties of Exponents
*Operations with Rational Numbers
*Solving Multi-Step Equations
*Applying the Pythagorean Theorem
The funny part is that every problem has the exact same answer - ONE! A sample key is included. Watch students as they start to see the pattern in their answers! Once the cat's out of the bag, students know to aim for an answer of ONE as problems increase in difficulty, giving them a target to aim for.
Since I teach in Texas and we are currently approaching STAAR testing, I plan to use this "quiz" as an opportunity for students to practice problems whose answers need to be "gridded in". So as they begin to "bubble" their answers, I look forward to seeing their smirks as they work!
