Friends~I am so pumped to share my ELA Quick Centers for April. They are aligned with the common core for 2nd grade. I use these quick centers as an assessment tool. My students complete one quick center each day before heading into our Daily Practice Centers. (Literacy Centers) When I call students to guided reading groups we review their quick centers in group. It is a great way for students to get extra help with mini lessons and for them to ask questions in a small group. I also can make notes about who is needing more help with specific ELA standards.

Quick Center Check Sheet
2.RL.1 3 sheets that go along with the book It's Spring by Linda Glaser. Each sheet has a QR code for the students to scan to hear the story.
2.RL.4 Two different rhyming sheets where students color and record rhyming words from the story. QR code reading included
2.RIT.2 One fiction and one nonfiction close read with QR code reading included.
2.RFS.4 Two spin and read fluency sheets.
2.RFS.3 Two syllable sheets where students will read, write and clap words.

2.L.1 Two adjective sheets where students will color an image and list adjectives about it. They will also write a sentence.
2.L.1 Two Build a Sentence sheets where students will build sentences from a word bank.

2.L.4 Two Contractions Sheets where students will create contractions and then use the correct one in provided sentences.
