April Morning by Howard Fast, is a classic American Revolutionary War novel set in 1775 that deals admirably with complex issues of war, its effect on communities, its destructive consequences, and how people are influenced. This novel is gritty, realistic and poignant, aided by engaging dialogue that is fun to read out loud. Thus, it is an excellent teaching novel as a daily class project and supplemental activity to the Am. Revolution.
