This April Poetry product is designed to build reading skills, language development, creativity, and higher order thinking skills.
Introduce one original and themed poem per week. Use the poem to model reading strategies, emphasize sight words, and discover rhyming words. Students will paste the poem into their journal. Students will infer meaning and summarize the poem to create their own title. Students will visualize and illustrate the poem to develop creativity. Students will highlight and record sight words and rhyming words to develop reading and language skills.
