Did you know National Arbor Day is always celebrated on the last Friday in April? However, many states observe Arbor Day on different dates throughout the year based on best tree planting times in their area. See more information here: https://www.arborday.org/celebrate/dates.cfm
I share a common or uncommon holiday of each day on my morning work PowerPoint slide. April is full of some of my favorite holidays that include a chance to take care of our planet. The holidays are sometimes just mentioned, and sometimes celebrated in class with themed activities, games, homework, or stories.
I use this worksheet for morning work on Arbor Day to help bring attention to the holiday. I use it as a reading comprehension/vocabulary grade.
The answer key is included to help.
