Use these interactive notes to introduce students to finding lengths of arcs.
The 2-page notes include basic circle vocabulary, review of circumference, finding length of semicircles, and steps for finding minor and major arc lengths.
These notes do not use the standard arc length formula. Instead, I try to get students to understand the concept of arc lengths by finding circumference, writing a fraction or decimal for an arc as part of a circumference, and then multiplying these two figures.
The pages are meant to be filled in as a class with the teacher aiding some portions and then allowing students to try some practice problems on their own before checking as a group.
