Product Description
Students will read about archeological digs and how 5000 year old canoes were excavated in Alachua County, FL. They will "decorate" a canoe that they painted as our ancestor and tell the story of their lives through art.

Students will write a poem or short story about the canoe's decorative meaning, life as a Native American, and the struggles that ancient civilizations may have faced.

This activity can be tied to Native American research units.
